The are straining everyone in the country, and adversely affecting every industry, and peoples personal standard of living!
$4.05 a gallon, they are out of their mind.
The government has no legal authority to mandate that private industry increase their infrastructure, and the cost of refinned fuel is do to lack of refining capacity, and speculators.
I have a solution:
Why doesn't the government build their own refineries, and compete with the private refining companies, then regulate the profits of the government operated facilities? Also they need to dill for more crude oil in U.S. territories. This will lower the cap, and drive the prices down.
The government could staff their refineries with the Army Core of Engineers!
The only thing that will lower the retail cost of refined fuel is to have a low cost competitor with massive capacity. It is a matter of national security, and something must be done.
